PANEK for holidays – the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic is often overlooked in the holiday plans of Poles, and we visit the country mainly on our way to southern Europe. It turns out, however, that you do not have to travel thousands of kilometers to experience a fantastic holiday adventure. All you need to do is book one of the well-equipped and comfortable cars at PANEK Rent a Car and go on an unforgettable tour of Czech castles.

Prague Castle in Prague  It is obvious that the capital’s castle had to be included in the list of the most interesting Czech castles. It is not only the most important Prague monument, but also one of the largest castle complexes in the world. It makes the greatest impression when you look at it from the opposite side of the Charles Bridge. The entire castle complex consists of historic palaces, sacred buildings and extensive gardens. Prague Castle has been a symbol of Czech statehood for over a thousand years, and today the President of the Czech Republic has his seat here. However, not all places have been made available to tourists, but the list of attractions is still dizzy, among them: the gothic cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert, the Old Royal Palace, St. George, the Chapel of the Holy Cross, the Golden Alley and the Picture Gallery. The Royal Garden, the Southern Gardens and Jeleni Parow are also worth seeing.

Karlštejn Castle  Considered the most important castle in the Czech Republic, it is located in the heart of the Bohemian Karst region, only 30 km southwest of the country’s capital. The proximity of Prague makes it one of the most crowded tourist attractions in the whole Czech Republic. It was built during the reign of the Roman Emperor and the King of Bohemia – Charles IV to store Christian relics and imperial coronation jewels there. The most interesting part of the castle is the beautifully decorated Chapel of the Holy Cross. The castle is very impressive, and the most interesting part of it is the beautifully decorated Chapel of the Holy Cross.  Hluboka Castle  Another beautiful castle stands right next to České Budějovice on the southern tip of the Czech Republic. This neo-Renaissance gem was created only in the 19th century, but don’t let its short history fool you. There are as many as 140 beautifully arranged rooms available for visitors, which are visited with a guide. A separate attraction is a beautiful park with many quiet nooks and an orangery.

Krumlov Castle  Do you know the famous song by Helena Vondrackowa about the painted jug from the Krumlov castle? Many people say that Krumlov is at the top of the list of the most beautiful towns in the whole Czech Republic. Its historic center has been entered on the UNESCO list, but the biggest attraction is the huge castle towering over the city – one of the largest in Europe. Built in the Gothic style, the complex includes 40 buildings and palace facilities connected by five courtyards. You will find here a number of architectural gems from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century, and a real madness is the Golden Carriage displayed in one of the rooms.  In turn, in one of the courtyards there is one of the two best-preserved baroque palace theaters in Europe, and from the 13th-century tower there is a beautiful view of the city and the surrounding area.

Pernštejn Castle  The list of the most beautiful Czech castles included a Gothic fortress from the end of the 13th century, hidden deep in the forests of the Bohemian-Moravian Massif. It is one of the best-preserved complexes in the whole Czech Republic, and its unquestionable value is the fact that many of them have not been rebuilt since the 16th century. Interestingly, the well-thought-out structure with many moats, drawbridges and high walls meant that the Fortress was never conquered. However, even if the invaders managed to break through the gate, the armored knight would not be able to squeeze through the narrow corridors. Like many medieval castles, this one also has its legend of the White Lady, women are also not allowed to look into castle mirrors. Why? You will learn more by visiting this mysterious place.  The Czech Republic and its untouched architecture delight tourists visiting the country.
