Hyundai Elantra – modernity in a classic edition

The seventh generation Hyundai Elantra, which has just made its debut in PANEK Rent a Car, is a car by all means unique. Its unique and extremely dynamic design draws the attention of drivers, and its uncomplicated technology ensures trouble-free use. So how does the combination of extravagant styling with conventional, almost classic technology work?

Comfort first of all

The dimensions of the new Hyundai Elantra slightly exceed the standards of the Compact class and its task is to compete on the market with models such as the Skoda Octavia and the Honda Civic sedan. The car turns out to be extremely spacious inside, and frankly speaking, the amount of space in the cockpit is the greatest advantage of the Korean sedan. The front seats are ultra-comfortable and designed to ensure comfortable travel even on the longest route. The backrests of the armchairs support the body very well, and the seats are long enough to provide thigh support, even for people who are 190 cm tall. A huge amount of space has also been created in the second row of seats, and the parameters at the knee height deserve special recognition. The only problem as a consequence of the low sloping roof is that tall passengers on the rear seat may struggle with headroom.

Another surprise is the combination of modernity and tradition in the dashboard area. On the one hand, we have two liquid crystal displays (one in the place of the clocks and the other central), on the other hand, the designers kept the entire keyboard of physical buttons controlling individual functions. However, everything is in its place, legible and intuitively arranged.

Take it easy to the destination

The new Elantra is equipped with a classic driveline consisting of a 1.6-liter gasoline engine mated to a continuously variable CVT transmission. The engine is a naturally aspirated design, and therefore devoid of any booster in the form of a turbocharger or compressor. It develops a power of 123 hp, and a torque of 153 Nm is achieved at 4,500 revolutions per minute. You can see immediately that the new Hyundai sedan is not a speed demon, but that was not the assumption of the designers either. The Elantra is supposed to be a quiet car for traveling long distances and it does a great job in this category. Power is distributed steadily and the car gently speeds up. Drivers who remember the past decade in the automotive industry and miss it very much will be especially pleased. Hyundai will not surprise anyone with its dynamics, but it will not be the last. We especially like the sound of a classic four-cylinder engine that slowly speeds up.

The chassis also deserves praise, in particular the suspension and the level of suspension. The car drives like a limousine, choosing bumps like the best representatives of the premium class. Virtually no knocks or outside noises penetrate the cabin. The only sound that penetrates excessively is the noise of rolling tires. In addition, the aerodynamics is at a good level, and the soundproofing of the cabin does not stand out from the competition.

We encourage you to choose the new Hyundai Elantra, which is available throughout Poland at PANEK Rent a Car. If you are planning a long and peaceful route to one of the places we present, the Korean sedan will certainly be a good choice.
