Hyundai Elantra – tradition and modernity

A car has just joined the PANEK Rent a Car fleet, which combines refined styling, driving comfort and the legendary reliability of one system. The new Hyundai Elantra is a car that follows its own path, and in the age of downsizing and supercharged engines, it still stays true to its concept of a smooth, naturally aspirated petrol engine. So it is no coincidence that the Elantra won the North American Car of The Year 2021.

Hyundai Elantra is a car in the Coupe style which is exceptionally fashionable today. The low roof line gives the body an extremely dynamic character, and sharp cuts to the side line further enhance this impression. The front end of the new Elantra successfully echoes the popular Tucson SUV, and while the headlamps are not as spectacular as those of the big brother, the diamond-cut grille blends in perfectly with Hyundai’s new design. There is also a lot going on at the rear of the vehicle, where the sloping trunk transforms into the combined rear lamps, becoming a specific ending of the body line. The trunk itself is not overly large, but its size of 474 dm3 follows the style.

The interior of Hyundai is also a completely new quality, which introduces the driver to the new world of Korean motoring. The dual display on the dashboard is very impressive, and while it looks “inspired” by that of Mercedes, we like it very much. The entire dashboard, just like the body line, runs horizontally. This stylistic treatment gives the cabin an impression of spaciousness and luxury. The cockpit itself faces the driver at an angle of 10 degrees, improving ergonomics and facilitating access to buttons. Hyundai has proven more than once that it knows what it is doing over the last few years and this time it has not failed. The armchairs are very comfortable and there is plenty of space inside. Connectivity with a smartphone is provided by the Bluelink system, and advanced security systems monitor the space around the car.

With all this modernity and tasteful styling, it is surprising that under the hood of the Hyundai Elantra there is a naturally aspirated 1.6-liter engine generating 123 HP and a torque of 153 Nm at 4500 rpm. On paper, the performance does not make a big impression, but the subjective feeling behind the wheel is completely different. The naturally aspirated motor gains even speed and can accelerate to 100 km / h in 10.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km / h! At the same time, the engine is fuel-efficient, and this is an extremely important issue that customers of car rental companies pay special attention to.
